Professional Experience

FOUNDER and DIRECTOR 

LILAPORT LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT PORTAL, ISTANBUL, 2020 - 

Lilaport is initially intended to act as a virtual school on the web, focused on inspirational learning in various fields, such as language courses, business-life coaching, professional trainings on storytelling, script writing, film making, stage performances, sailing, and many others. The idea has turned into a passion in time as it has emerged from the ultimate meaning of my life, which is to use my cumulative professional experience and skill- sets for touching the lives of people. Key milestones: Concept creation, logo design, vision and mission statement setting, technical team setup, acquisition of domain names, preparation and launch of the social media, preparation of visual and audial learning material, and strategy setup. The launch is planned to take place by December 2021.  

BUSINESS EXPANSION & FOREIGN TRADE MANAGER (FREELANCER) 

SEDOMED LTD., ISTANBUL, 2017 - 2020 

I was offered the role to expand the international coverage of the Company in the sales of food supplements, dermatology and cosmetic products, and medical devices. I have used the internet as a tool to find out new clients. Key achievement: Jordan, Egypt and Palestine markets had a positive impact on the turnover by 3%.

COUNTRY MANAGER & SENIOR CLINICAL RESEARCH MANAGER

PHARM-OLAM INTERNATIONAL LTD., ISTANBUL, 2014 - 2017

I made individual attempts to make the first contacts with the Company, after which Dinamikron became the service provider to Pharm-Olam. Within a couple of months after the start of the business, I was offered a Country Manager role. My key achievements include active involvement in the establishment of the local entity in Turkey, completing recruitments and setting up the Country Operations Team in a committed timeframe, increasing the number of clinical research projects, developing tools as the specifiers of full time allocations (FTA), and setting performance measurement goals for the local staff. As the Country Manager, I assumed responsibility for all clinical, financial, legal, and human resources aspects of the business, as well the preparation of fiscal and financial reports, and signing commercial contracts. As an indicator of achievement specific to the clinical research field, the team I was leading completed patient enrolments in their respective projects with a very good enrolment rate (23% within 18 countries), and awarded by the project management teams. Also, I voluntarily took part in several Business Development meetings, named Bid Defence meetings. In addition to my administrative responsibilities, I was also responsible for an unblinded part of a project as a Senior Clinical Research Associate, in which I passed a very successful Client audit process with no major findings.

FOUNDER and MANAGING PARTNER 

DİNAMİKRON MEDICAL SERVICES LTD., ISTANBUL, 2008 - 2014

 

First professional activities started with medical translations. I made a strategic decision in May 2012 and restructured the company setup to include clinical research activities offering a broader range of services. This action led to a 60% of increase in the turnover. Apart from increasing volume of medical translations by time, business activities expanded towards clinical research with regulatory submissions and relevant tasks including obtaining approvals, conducting feasibilities and site assessments, site visits to initiate research sites, clinical monitoring, close-out visits; preparing site visit reports using the available reporting systems; obtaining import licenses, finalizing the import process; obtaining study specific insurance certificates as appropriate; making site contracts; remote monitoring, data capture, CRF design and e-CRF software, medical writing, data management, biostatistics analysis, outsourcing clinical personnel i.e. study nurses, site coordinators; organizing investigator meetings, preparing meeting materials as appropriate, providing trainings, etc. Major strengths were the close relations with key investigators, wide networking with all parties involved in clinical research business. My key achievement was to have gained Pharm-Olam as a Client.

SENIOR CLINICAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

Feasibilities and start-ups of clinical trials; collecting essential documents; obtaining local and central ethics committee approvals; obtaining import licenses; pre-study site visits, monitoring visits; obtaining insurance certificates; obtaining power of attorneys from sponsor companies as applicable; study budget formation and site negotiations from financial point of view; making site contracts; visit reporting using CTMS (Cascade); close relations with leading investigators in Turkey; performing quality check of the translated trial protocols, informed consent documents and relevant research documents as well as their back-translations.
